Infused Lava Cake Recipe for Valentine’s Day
Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, and what better way to celebrate than with an infused lava cake? This recipe makes two lava cakes, perfect for sharing with a partner or friend. If you prefer to keep all the chocolate to yourself, that just means you have a bonus cake! You can infuse your cakes twice by using both infused butter and infused chocolate, or pick just one option. It's all about what your heart desires!
Infused Lava Cake Ingredients
1/4 cup infused butter
3 oz chocolate (you can use infused chocolate.)
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 large egg
1 large egg yolk
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
A pinch of salt
Directions: How to Make Infused Lava Cakes
Preheat the oven to 450°F. Prepare two 8 oz ramekins by greasing and dusting them with flour, then set aside. If you don’t have ramekins, you can use any small oven-safe bowl or even canning jars.
In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the infused butter and chocolate together, heating in 30-second intervals. Stir until fully combined.
In a separate medium bowl, beat the egg, egg yolk, salt, and sugar with an electric mixer on high until the mixture becomes light and fluffy (about 2 ½-3 minutes). Fold the melted chocolate and flour gradually into the egg blend until uniform.
Carefully pour the chocolate batter evenly into the prepared ramekins.
Bake for approximately 11 to 13 minutes, or until the edges are set but the center is still soft.
Let the cakes cool for one minute.
Use a knife to gently separate the edges from the ramekins and flip them onto a plate. Allow a few seconds for the cakes to release before lifting the ramekins. They will be very hot (just like you.)
Top with powdered sugar and ice cream.
